HammondCare is an independent Christian charity that exists to improve the quality of life for people in need. We specialise in palliative care, rehabilitation, aged and dementia care, mental health services for older people and other related health and aged care services.  HammondCare seeks to embed evidence-based best practices in its services, and we provide these services through home care, sub-acute hospitals and residential aged care.

About the role

There are two permanent positions - one full-time role and one part-time role (8 days per fortnight) for experienced and skilled Registered Nurses. Based at Neringah Hospital in Wahroonga you will be a part of a highly dedicated Community Palliative Care team that provides the evidence-based nursing care and advice to patients with palliative care needs.

About you

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Experience working in the specialty area of palliative care in an inpatient setting or community is desirable
  • Desirable four years post-graduate experience and working towards a post-graduate palliative care qualification.
  • Evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking, and analysis in your daily practice as a registered nurse
  • Able to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment
